Position Description:

As the Financial Analyst you will be the liaison to our head office in Germany in respect to controlling and accounting reports. 

You will have a number of different tasks, the most important ones being:

  • Establish and monitor procedures and internal control policies within the framework of Viessmann guidelines and policies
  • Provide monthly Management reporting, quarterly consolidation reporting (to Viessmann Germany and adopt of Viessmann management reporting guidelines at Viessmann Canada
  • Annual reporting of financial statements according to group guidelines (German GAAP based with the support of Viessmann Germany); liaison with auditors to bridge from Canadian GAAP
  • Annual budget preparation for Viessmann Canada 
  • Provide and analyze sales related accrual information
  • Calculate and pay commissions for sales representatives; provide monthly commission reports
  • Provide variance analyses of expenses to budget and of costing
  • Reporting of monthly cash flow statements and cash flow projections to Viessmann Germany
  • Provide statistical reporting to government agencies as required
  • Assist with the annual year end audit
  • Cooperate with Viessmann Germany in respect to accounting, controlling and reporting projects as required
  • Preparation of forecasts on sales, costs, P&L, B/S and cash using Viessmann reporting forms
  • Meaningful explanation/commentary on reports
  • Compliance with legal requirements as well as guidelines of the Viessmann Group
  • Coverage of request concerning setup of profit center or business area reporting
  • Support other teams in analysis of contracts in respect of identifiying and avoiding financial risks
  • Sales Controlling incl. reporting on sales quantities, sales turnover, cost of goods, margins


Essential skills and qualifications for position:

  • University degree or College diploma in Business/Accounting; achieved Level 3 in CGA or CMA Program of Professional Studies, alternatively a minimum of ten (10) years experience in a Controller position
  • A minimum of five years of practical experience in the Accounting team in a manufacturing environment
  • Must have prior ERP experience for a manufacturing firm, SAP skills are an asset
  • Proficient in Excel
  • Sound knowledge of GAAP; good understanding of the complete range of accounting procedures
  • Strong communication skills and outstanding analytical skills
  • German language skills are an asset
